Visual Conversation

Reflection
This collaboration project worked by setting up a shared folder that each new photo was left in for the other person. For example, when I came to class, there would be a new photo waiting for me, and the I would respond to that photo by taking another one, which I would then leave for my partner to respond to. This cycle repeated itself until we had a total of eight images between us. The visual conversation that my partner and I had was centered around nature and plants. My partner focused on up close and more abstract images of plants and trees, while I focused on green plants and their interaction with architecture and the material world. I think that this project was interesting and also a good challenge in collaboration as an artist. What worked for me with this project was that both of us were on the same page and had a mutual understanding of the conversation. What didn't work for me as an artist was the constraint of having to shoot my photos in the school, which to me is creatively restricting and highly uninspiring.
